Day31 exists because proving where you were should not require spreadsheets.
The problem we chose
Modern borders and tax authorities run on day counts: 90 days in any 180 in Schengen, 183 weighted days for the IRS, 183-plus-domicile in New York. The rules are simple arithmetic applied to a record nobody keeps. Most people discover their day count during an audit, a visa refusal, or a residency assessment — when it is too late to change it.
The product we build
Day31 is an iPhone app that builds the record for you. It counts every day in every jurisdiction you touch — countries, US states, Canadian provinces — watches each limit you care about, and warns you before you cross one. It works offline, requires no account, and keeps your location data on the device; backup, if you want it, goes to your own iCloud.
