Does Day31 really track me automatically?
Yes. Day31 tracks your location in the background and files every day into the right jurisdiction — no check-ins, no manual logging. Layovers are detected so a connection does not count as a stay. In real-world testing on an iPhone 11, tracking used 2% of battery over 10 days, and it keeps working in airplane mode.
How does the Schengen 90/180 tracking work?
Day31 counts your days in the Schengen Area over the rolling 180-day window automatically and shows how many days you have left. Multi-stage alerts warn you 30 and 14 days before you approach the limit. You can also set custom rolling, fixed, or consecutive day limits for any other jurisdiction.
Where does my data go?
Nowhere. Your personal data is stored on your phone only, and the app runs entirely offline — the only network connection is to Apple for the App Store receipt. There is no account, no login, no phone number. If you enable backup, it goes to your personal iCloud Drive, not to a server we run. You can also lock the app with Face ID.

Yes. Day31 scans your photo library’s EXIF dates and locations on-device (the photos themselves are never accessed or uploaded) and can import from Google Maps Timeline, Flighty, App in the Air, TripIt, US I-94 travel history, and boarding-pass scans — rebuilding years of past travel in minutes.
